LISA Y. SALAZAR
Undergraduate Researcher (Biology NNMC)
Lisa is pursuing a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology and is native to Espanola. Her current project includes the genotyping of multiple mutations in the plant Arabidopsis thaliana affecting the nuclear bodies termed Cajal Bodies. Lisa is characterizing the relationship between POLY CAJAL BODY and the SUMO2 gene, and the Arabidopsis homologue of the human survival motor neuron 1 (SMN1) gene.
YURI ALMEIDA
Register Nurse 2011
Undergraduate Researcher (Biology NNMC)
Yuri graduated from NNMC in 2011 with an Associates of Sciences in Nursing. She is currently seeking a Bachelors of Science in Biology to persue her MD/PhD. Her research consist of studying the Arabidopsis SUMO3 overexpressing line in different genetic backgrounds.
Oliver Oviedo
Undegraduate Researcher (Biology NNM)
Oliver is pursuing a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology and is interested in accumulating research experience in order to later get into a research oriented graduate program. His interests include bioinformatics and plant biology, as well as evolutionary development and molecular genetics. Currently, he is studying an Arabidopsis double mutant, using PCR techniques to genotype a set of mutants based on the presence of particular gene insertion.
